Children’s Drawing Contest of the SCB Europe Section

To inspire the next generation of conservationists, we are delighted to continue the ECCB tradition of a children’s drawing contest under the theme:

“Meet the European Endangered Species”

If you are 14 years old or younger, love drawing and nature, this contest is for you!
All you need to do is choose a protected species from your country, draw it in its natural habitat on an A4 sheet, and ask a relative or friend who is attending ECCB26 to bring your artwork to the congress. Your drawings will be displayed during the conference and voted on by congress participants. Join in and let your art help tell the story of Europe’s endangered wildlife!

Who can participate?

There are two age categories:

  • Primary school: 6–10 years and
  • Secondary school: 11–14 years

How to participate?

  • Draw your chosen species on an A4 sheet (21 × 30 cm).
    • On the back of your artwork, write your name and age
    • The name of the species (incl. Latin name)
    • The number and email address of the person attending ECCB26
  • Place the drawing inside an envelope.
  • Write on the envelope:
    • The child’s name
    • The name of the person registered for ECCB26. Indicate the participation by ticking the children’s drawing contest checkbox during registration.

And then?

  • Drawings can be handed in at the registration desk during congress check-in.
  • Voting for the best drawings in each age category will take place during the poster sessions.
  • Winners will be announced on 10 July 2026, at the closing ceremony of the 8th European Congress of Conservation Biology.
