Call for Abstracts (for parallel sessions and posters)
European Congress of Conservation Biology (ECCB 2026)
We are pleased to announce the opening of the Call for Abstracts for the European Congress of Conservation Biology (ECCB 2026), which will take place in Leiden, the Netherlands, from July 6 to 10, 2026.
This event is organized by the Europe Region of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) and Leiden University (Faculty of Science / CML), this year’s host, in collaboration with our organizing partners Hortus botanicus Leiden, NIOO-KNAW, and Wageningen University & Research (WUR), and supported by the Leiden Biodiversity Network.
Join the conversation
We have received many impressive proposals for symposia, panel discussions, workshops, and training courses, in the first call, and we are delighted to welcome three outstanding keynote speakers, leading academic voices advancing science to protect our planet’s biodiversity.
In this second call we now warmly invite your oral, speed talks and poster contributions to the parallel (regular) sessions of the programme, to build on this exciting foundation. You can find the list of (parallel) session titles on the website.
Submit your proposal
This new Call for Abstracts for parallel (regular) sessions (for oral presentations, posters, or speed talks) will be open from December 15, 2025, to Februari 15, 2026. We encourage you to submit your abstracts via the submission portal via the button below.
Participants who have already submitted a form to speak in a symposium (submitted in the first Call) may also submit one additional contribution for the parallel (regular) sessions. Please share this opportunity with colleagues and collaborators who might be interested in participating.
For scientific inquiries or technical questions related to the submission system, please reach out to eccb2026@congressbydesign.com.
We look forward to your contributions!
Best wishes,
The Organizing Committee
